Living Hope

Living Hope runs a Health Care Centre in Capri Village offering a 22-bed sub-acute hospital, providing step-down care for patients who have suffered an acute illness, injury or disease and no longer need intensive diagnostic or invasive procedures. The centre began as an in-patient palliative care hospice for people with terminal illnesses before shifting its function to match the community's changing needs.

Care is provided around the clock by an interdisciplinary team that includes a medical doctor, a social worker, a physiotherapist, an occupational therapist, a chaplain, professional nurses and carers. Patients are referred by a clinic or hospital, or identified by the organisation's own Home Based Care team, with the referring doctor completing an admission application before medical aid authorisation is arranged.

Beyond healthcare, Living Hope also runs agricultural training, substance abuse recovery, life skills, skills development and family strengthening programmes. It suits patients needing step-down nursing care after a hospital stay, and the referring clinics and hospitals that work with the organisation.
