Makemba Boutique

Makemba Boutique is a bohemian designer label based at Imhoff Farm in Kommetjie, selling limited-edition jewellery, clothing and accessories. Its silver and brass jewellery is inspired by tribal art and craftsmanship, and the leather pieces are handmade by a Zimbabwean artisan. Hand-made macrame pieces complete the jewellery range, and the name comes from a central African word meaning freedom.

The clothing is made from natural fibres, including Indian hand-loomed cottons, West African mudcloth and hand block prints, and it caters to slow-fashion shoppers who appreciate ancient textile skills.
