Vergenoegd Löw Wine Estate is a heritage wine farm near Stellenbosch, founded in 1696 and restored since 2015 across its Cape Dutch manor house, werf and farm buildings. The estate combines wine tastings, farm-to-table dining, a spa and accommodation on regeneratively farmed vineyards bordered by conserved wetlands.
Visitors exploring the werf before lunch are likely to encounter the estate's famous flock of Indian Runner ducks, kept for pest control among the vines, and Australorp chickens that forage in the vegetable garden, with both supplying eggs for the kitchen. The farm's two restaurants, Geuwels and Clara's Barn, serve food built around classic South African flavours and heartfelt, farm-to-table cooking.
It suits visitors who want a wine tasting, a farm-to-table meal or an overnight stay surrounded by birdlife and mountain views near Stellenbosch.
