Checkers Hyper Fairbridge Mall

Checkers Hyper at Fairbridge Mall in Brackenfell reopened as a revamped supermarket in February 2021, with a stronger focus on fresh food and convenience, wider aisles and an improved layout. The revamp created 48 new jobs and brought the store's staff to 274.

The store's in-store departments include an artisanal bakery with breads, pastries and handmade pies, a deli with a charcuterie range, and stone-baked pizzas from an in-house open-flame oven. A sit-down sushi bar, a rodizio grill and an on-site food truck sit alongside a pet shop and a party shop, which were new to the chain's Western Cape stores at the time.

The store is in Fairbridge Mall on the corner of Old Paarl Road and Brackenfell Boulevard, and suits shoppers who want a full weekly shop and a meal or treats in one visit.
