Folk Cafe St James is a beach-style restaurant in St James, a newer sister branch of the popular Bree Street coffee and lunch spot in the city centre. The St James branch occupies the old Octopus Garden site and offers an all-new pizza and dinner menu, along with milkshakes and ice cream.
Co-owner Leeanne Heald describes it as a long-held dream to open a beach-style concept restaurant, and the site's beach vibe and large garden made room for a big kids' play area. The restaurant is run by Leeanne and her husband Laurence, who call it a beach-style concept store that is a little different from the original inner-city coffee shop.
It suits families who want pizza, dinner or ice cream with a beach-garden setting in St James.
