Tafelsig Primary School

Tafelsig Primary School is a public, no-fee primary school on Olifantshoek Avenue in Tafelsig, Mitchells Plain, teaching the CAPS curriculum to around 1,187 learners under a staff of about 31 educators. As a Quintile 4 institution, the school receives government funding per learner to cover its operational and teaching costs, keeping it free of charge for the families it serves.

Beyond the classroom, the school runs sports, arts and other learner activities alongside ongoing teacher development initiatives, documented through its own current social-media presence rather than a dedicated school website.

Serving primary-school learners from Tafelsig and the surrounding Mitchells Plain community, the school suits families looking for a no-fee CAPS primary school with an active extracurricular programme alongside its core academic teaching.
