Eagles' Nest

Eagles' Nest is a boutique wine estate on the steep slopes of the Constantia mountain range, producing Sauvignon Blanc, Viognier, Shiraz and Merlot from vineyards planted at elevations of roughly 100 to 400 metres. The property's history stretches back to the late 1600s, when it operated as a commercial farm exporting fruit and supplying vegetables to the local market.

A devastating fire in 2000 destroyed most of the estate's natural fynbos, and the farm used the rebuild as a turning point, shifting its focus to winemaking while restoring the indigenous vegetation and planting tens of thousands of Silver Tree seeds that have grown into one of South Africa's largest Silver Tree plantations. The estate today offers wine tastings alongside cheese and charcuterie platters, and runs a wine club for regular visitors, on Constantia Main Road in Constantia.
