Hangberg Pre-Primary School is a pre-school in Hout Bay that marked ten years of serving its community in 2024. It began in July 2014 with two classrooms on loan from Sentinel Primary School and 60 Grade R children, and has since grown into a purpose-built facility catering for up to 120 pre-schoolers.
Plans for the permanent building were approved during 2014 and 2015, and the school raised R5.5 million to fund construction, with the Rotary Club Am Kap in Sea Point and its German Rotarian partners donating 60% of the cost. The rest came from other donors and the trust's annual dinner dances.
The school serves children from different backgrounds in the Hangberg community, and its activities include swimming lessons. It suits families in Hout Bay looking for a community-rooted pre-school for Grade R-aged children.
