Our Local

Our Local Sea Point is the second branch of the Kloof Street neighbourhood cafe that Michael Carter and Shayne Schutte built out of an old mechanic's workshop during lockdown. The Sea Point branch is smaller and more intimate than the original, but keeps the same long table down the centre and a window counter for watching the Sea Point buzz.

The cafe's eclectic style mixes plants, thrifted ceramics and salvaged furniture with rough-textured walls and vintage pieces, celebrating the beauty of imperfection rather than a polished finish. It serves an all-day menu of wholesome, home-style cooking in a relaxed, feel-good atmosphere suited to long breakfasts, lunches or catch-ups.

It suits visitors who want the same old-world, plant-filled charm as the original Our Local, in a more compact Sea Point setting.
