Knead at Constantia Emporium is a branch of the artisan bakery and café chain founded in August 2006 at Wembley Square in Cape Town, which has grown to five stores across the city. The bakery is rooted in traditional methods, using locally sourced seasonal ingredients and baking by hand each day through kneading and slow-proofing.
The Constantia branch trades Monday to Saturday from 8am to 6pm, with the kitchen closing at 4:30pm and the coffee section taking last orders at 5:30pm, and on Sundays from 8am to 4pm with the kitchen closing at 3:30pm. It also offers a pensioners' menu on Mondays and Thursdays.
The café is on the corner of Ladies Mile and Spaanschemat River Road in Constantia, and suits anyone after warm bread, baked treats or a relaxed café meal made from scratch.
