Tang

Tang is a modern-Asian restaurant and bar at the V&A Waterfront, its name drawn from the ancient Chinese dynasty that prized sensory pleasure and creativity. The Cape Town restaurant opened in December 2022 in a waterside space with views over the harbour, yacht basin and Table Mountain, and was named Africa's Best New Restaurant 2023 at the World Culinary Awards the following year.

The interior is clad in pale oak and marble with touches of cherry blossom pink for a lighter, more tropical feel, and keeps a signature marble waterfall, a Champagne fridge and a walk-in wine cellar as its centrepieces. Its alfresco tables sit right on the ocean's edge, giving diners a multi-sensory setting to go with the kitchen's modern takes on classic Asian dishes.
